Bailey Mathis, age 28, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at her home on September 17, 2025. Funeral services are currently pending, and family and friends will gather soon to honor her remarkable life and the love she so freely shared.

Born on April 29, 1997, in West Point, Nebraska, Bailey was the beloved daughter of Brenda Mathis. She grew up in Wisner, where she attended Wisner-Pilger Schools, graduating in the Class of 2015. During her school years, Bailey’s joyful and spirited personality shone brightly. She was actively involved in athletics, as well as dance and cheer, where her energy and love for teamwork made her a natural leader and a friend to all. Many of her closest lifelong friendships were formed during those years, and she treasured those bonds deeply.

After high school, Bailey pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she concentrated her studies in the medical field. She began her professional journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant, a role that allowed her compassionate nature and dedication to caring for others to flourish. Bailey later joined Methodist Hospital, working across several departments and gaining valuable experience. Her dream, however, was realized when she was offered a position at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, where she worked in the Hematology and Oncology Departments. There, she provided care, hope, and kindness to children and families facing life’s most difficult battles. Her colleagues and patients remember her as someone who brought light and comfort wherever she went.

Outside of her work, Bailey lived life to the fullest. She was known for her active and social lifestyle, whether it was attending Husker football games, enjoying concerts, or spending evenings dancing and singing karaoke with friends. Her laughter was contagious, her smile lit up every room, and her zest for life left an impression on everyone she met.

Bailey is survived by her devoted mother, Brenda Mathis; her sisters, Hayden and Jocelyn; her brothers, Jonathan, Jordan, and Jace; and her grandparents, Patty and Allen Hanson and Doug Chudomelka. She also leaves behind a wide circle of extended family, countless friends, and her beloved fur-baby, Poppy, who brought her endless comfort and joy.

Bailey’s passing leaves an immeasurable void, but her legacy of kindness, passion, and love will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her. She will be remembered not only for her dedication to others but also for the vibrant way she lived each day.
